Le National Book Critics Circle Award est un prix annuel décerné par le National Book Critics Circle (NBCC) de promouvoir plus beaux livres et revues publiés en anglais.
Les prix se répartissent en six grandes catégories: romans et nouvelles, poésie, Memoir / Autobiography, Biography, and Criticism. Bourses ne sont pas donnés aux titres qui ont été précédemment publiés en anglais, telles que les nouveaux numéros et éditions de poche. Ils n'ont pas non plus «d'examiner les livres de cuisine, livres d'auto-assistance (y compris la littérature d'inspiration), ouvrages de référence, livres d'images ou livres pour enfants."[1] Les titres sont toutefois admissibles à être remis si elle est "la traduction, de nouvelles et recueils d'essais, auto publié des livres, et tous les titres qui entrent dans les catégories générales ci-dessus. " La composition NBCC élit une personne 24 tous les bénévoles du conseil d'administration de nommer et de juger les livres pour les prix et guide tous les jours-to-day activities[2].
