Norman Jesse Whitfield (né le 12 mai 1940, mort le 16 septembre 2008) est un compositeur et producteur américain, surtout connu pour son travail pour Motown. Il fut un des créateurs du Motown sound.
Il a écrit et produit de nombreux hits pendant vint-cinq ans de carrière, en particulier : I Heard It Through the Grapevine, Ain't Too Proud to Beg, Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me), (I Know) I'm Losing You, Cloud Nine, War, Papa Was a Rollin' Stone, Smiling Faces Sometimes.
Il fait partie du Songwriters Hall of Fame depuis 2004.
